Five days left to submit to Pathos & we need more prose!

FRIDAY IS THE LAST DAY TO SUBMIT TO PATHOS FOR FALL!

pathos submissions typewriterAnd wouldn’t you know – we have plenty of room for more writing and art in several categories that we know you’ve got up your talented sleeves. If you’ve got a piece or two rattling around the proverbial desk drawer, simmering on that back burner, or slowly coming together with revisions between midterms, now is the time to let your work out for some fresh autumn air – and for publication in Pathos Literary Magazine’s Fall 2015 issue!

Pathos is a young publication by the standards of our fellow papers and reviews here on the Portland State campus. We’re the only literary magazine on campus that is staffed fully by students and publishes students only, and we’re growing just as fast as you’re writing, drawing, painting, taking photographs, designing, composing, and building your academic portfolios.

With our submission deadline for Fall 2015 coming up fast at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, we’d like to make a big reveal: we’ve got a few sections that are light on submissions for fall, and we need your help to fill these beautiful full-color pages with the best work PSU has to offer, literary and beyond.

Here’s what we want from you:

Prose – Previously our most-submitted category, the prose section has only received 6 submissions for fall. Friends don’t let friends miss out on submitting their amazing prose to Pathos when we’re in such great need of amazing prose!

Visual art – For a category that includes such variety, from photography to graphic design, from painting to drawing, our visual art section has received 7 submissions so far this term. TOTAL. We’ll put it on every page if we can, but you’ll have to submit it to us first.

Poetry – Always a popular category, poetry has a healthy 11 submissions, but we want more! Hey, poets – if the prose writers are too shy this term, we’ll need to go heavier with the poetry, so keep it coming!

Get on it, Portland State! We’ll see you at the finish line!
